To Give An Education...it's huge!

Today he celebrates his life.  These 51 years are the working of a beautiful tapestry full of color extending hope, joy, and love to the needy children.  A life alive in Christ, suffering today while knowing his reward will be great in eternity.  The 3^rd world has cut him deep and each scar tells it’s own story.  He’s happy to be alive but his burden today is still the children.  All those dark eyes looking to him, lining his village streets, begging him, for help.  He reminds me of what I've seen and already know and then in a somber voice he tells the story of his present.  “You know school is about to start in Haiti.  It’s a great problem for me when I go to the village and there on the street corner is a little girl or a little boy.”  He pauses with a sigh and again his sorrow drains into me.  “They call out my name and ask me if I can make a way for them to go to school.”  He stares back into their eyes and hears their hearts.  This kind of pain makes him wince as it tears open the soul.  He has to look away but everywhere the streets are long and dirty.  There’s so much deficiency, too much to bear.  It forces his eyes upward.  He lifts them to the beauty of those hills where his help is found….His tone isn't somber anymore now I hear fight in his voice, “You know the needs I have for my school to open.  I don’t have any answers for these children right now but let’s keep praying.” 

If it were your baby could you breathe?  Could you swallow down a life like this for your child?  He needs $1400 a month to cover the expenses to provide his desperately needed school for the 200 plus children in his village.
