Sharing the dream...

"For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."  Isaiah 41:13
I’m both nervous and excited.  A battle between fear and faith rages within me sparking tears behind my eyes and I have to blink them away to continue writing this blog.  Too much life is at risk for faith not to win this particular battle.  It’s time for me to be vulnerable with you and share the dream I've been dreaming for all of the helpless children living in Pastor Nahum’s village. Will you stop whatever it is you are doing for a few minutes and step into my dream with me?

Start by thinking of the hundreds of Haitian children in Pastor Nahum’s village who live day to day fighting to climb their way out of the severe poverty they were born into—helpless, forgotten, and alone.  You know their stories.  You've heard them crying out—reaching out—praying for someone, anyone, to take their hand and pull them up out of the depths of darkness they live in.  My stomach twists in knots knowing that basic needs like food, water, shelter, and a chance for an education are considered luxuries in their village and how most of these children and their families rarely experience these “luxuries.”

Stay in the dream because if the dream comes true this will change everything for these kids.  Back to Life Ministries wants to implement a simple ordinary idea that regular normal people like you and I can easily participate in to create world-shattering results.

We haven’t gone all wild inventing a groundbreaking line of attack over here.  It’s actually as simple as monthly child sponsorship but track with me.  For the child who has never before been touched with sponsorship it’s a radical life-saving concept.  It’s their dream come true when someone sees them in all of their brokenness and chooses to reach out to take their hand instead of turning a blind eye and deaf ear to them—to assure them they are no longer forgotten.  It’s the feel of your fingers lacing with their fingers—the palm of your hand pressed against the palm of their hand.  It’s a lovely dream—together the village children are hand in hand with the church and they can feel the redemptive love of our Lord Jesus in a tangible way.
The details of the child sponsorship will follow in the next month or so.  I’m taking a team of very special people back to Pastor Nahum’s village next month.  Our team is going to trace the exact handprints of 200 children who need a monthly sponsor—who need someone to take their hand.  When we return, Pastor Nahum will be with me for his very first visit to the United States.  Sometime towards the end of March we will have the handprints prepared to launch the Take-A-Hand-Sponsorship-Project and witness the dream of God’s love transform this precious village of people in Haiti. I’m sharing the dream now so you can start dreaming and praying too—start talking it up with your friends and family and pray for God to stir hearts in the church so that not a single hand will be left helpless.  This is going to be something beautiful and eternal that you will want to be part of.  With a small $30 monthly love offering you will bring hope to the hopeless children and be making an investment into God's kingdom.  It’s dangerous to think someone else will do it.  Don’t forget we are dealing with a people who are too poor to help themselves.  Church, this is our sign to act.  There is a child’s hand waiting for you.  When Back to Life Ministries launches Take-A-Hand-Sponsorship-Project, we need to ALL be prepared to take one of these hands.  I’m praying real hard that the Spirit of God is working even now to bring every detail together perfectly for this dream to come true.

May our hearts be prepared to take a hand and change this suffering village with God’s love for His glory.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
